What's included, what it costs, who owns what, and what happens if you leave. Written to be read, not to hide things.
Last updated: August 2026
We design and build your website at no charge. You get 14 days to use it and decide. If you keep it, it's £30 a month and we host it, maintain it and make your changes. You buy your own domain so it's permanently yours. There's no minimum term — but if you stop paying, the website comes offline, because the monthly fee is what pays for the build.
Everything below is the detail. If anything here isn't clear, just ask — we're happy to talk it through.
These terms apply to the free website service provided by Weston Business Authority ("WBA", "we", "us") to you, the customer. They take effect when you ask us to start building your website. They sit alongside our general terms of service; where the two differ, these terms apply to the free website service.
The number of pages and the scope of the build are whatever we agree with you before we start. We'll be clear about it at the time.
If we can't get what we need from you, we may not be able to finish the build. We'll chase once or twice, then leave it with you.
When your website goes live, you get 14 days free of charge to use it, show it to people and decide whether to keep it. Nothing is payable during this period.
If you tell us within those 14 days that you don't want to continue, we take the site down and you owe us nothing. If you don't cancel, your subscription starts automatically at the end of the 14 days and the first payment becomes due.
The fee is £30 per month, billed monthly in advance, starting at the end of your free trial. It covers hosting, maintenance, support and your ongoing changes.
Your price is protected. If we ever change what we charge, you keep your existing price for at least six months from the day we tell you, so nothing lands on your next bill unexpectedly and you have time to plan. You are free to cancel at any point if the new price does not suit.
If a payment fails, we'll let you know and give you a reasonable chance to fix it. If it stays unpaid, we may suspend or take down the website.
You buy and own your domain name directly, in your own name. It typically costs around £12 a year and it is not included in our monthly fee. This is deliberate: it means the domain is permanently yours, you control it, and you're never dependent on us to keep it.
We'll happily walk you through buying it and we'll connect it to your website for you. We're not responsible for your domain registrar, for renewal reminders, or for a domain lapsing because it wasn't renewed.
A website and a business email address are two separate things, and the free website service does not include email.
If you would like enquiries to reach you on your own domain (for example hello@yourbusiness.co.uk rather than a personal Gmail address), most domain registrars offer free forwarding — mail sent to your business address simply lands in the inbox you already use. We are happy to set this up for you as part of the build, at no charge.
A full mailbox — one you can also send and reply from, with storage and calendars — is a paid service from a provider such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. That account is bought in your name and billed to you directly, typically a few pounds per user per month. We can help you choose and set one up, but we do not provide, host or manage your email, and we are not responsible for its availability or for mail that fails to arrive.
Your website depends on services run by other companies — hosting, domain registration, form handling, email delivery and similar.
Where a service forms part of what we provide, we hold that account and manage it for you, and you do not need to sign up for anything or agree to anyone else's terms. That is deliberate: it keeps the service simple for you.
Where a service must be in your own name — your domain registrar, an email mailbox, or a payment processor if you take payments online — you enter into that agreement directly with the provider, and their terms and charges apply to you rather than to us. We can walk you through setting these up and we will happily sit on the phone while you do it, but we cannot accept another company's terms on your behalf, and we are not responsible for their service, pricing, uptime or decisions.
If a third-party provider changes its terms, raises its prices or withdraws a service in a way that affects your website, we will tell you and suggest the best alternative.
This one matters, so we'll be direct about it.
Yours, always: your domain name, the context of your company or service, your photographs, your logo and your branding. If you leave, you keep all of it, and we'll provide copies of your content on request.
Ours: the website itself — the underlying code, design system, templates and hosting setup we built it on. The website is provided to you as an ongoing service rather than as a product you buy outright. That's precisely what allows us to build it for free rather than charging you thousands up front.
If you would rather own the finished website outright and host it yourself, that's absolutely fine — just ask, and we'll quote you for a standard paid build instead.
Your monthly fee includes reasonable ongoing changes: updating text, prices, opening hours, photos, staff, and adding new pages as you grow. We don't invoice you per change and we don't count them pettily.
"Reasonable" means what a normal small business needs. A complete redesign, an e-commerce shop, a booking or payment system, custom software, photography, or work for a separate business are all outside the monthly and would be quoted separately. We'll always tell you before anything is chargeable — you'll never receive a surprise invoice.
There is no minimum term and no notice period. You can cancel at any time by telling us in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine).
When you cancel: your subscription stops at the end of the period you've paid for, and your website is then taken offline. We keep your site files and content for 14 days afterwards, so there's a window to change your mind or ask us for a copy of your content. After 14 days they're deleted permanently.
Your domain is unaffected and remains yours, because you own it directly.
We may also end the service ourselves — for example if fees go unpaid, if the content becomes unlawful, or if the relationship becomes unworkable. We'll give you reasonable notice and the same 14-day window wherever we can.
The 14-day trial exists so you can decide before you pay anything. For that reason, monthly payments made after the trial are non-refundable, including part-months when you cancel partway through a billing period.
Nothing here affects any legal rights you have that can't be excluded.
We aim to keep your website online and available at all times, and we host on reliable infrastructure. We can't guarantee uninterrupted availability, because parts of the service depend on third parties such as hosting providers, domain registrars and form services. We'll fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can.
Occasionally we need to take a site offline briefly for maintenance or updates. We'll keep it short and, where we can, do it quietly.
We take the work seriously, but we can't promise particular business outcomes — visitor numbers, enquiries, sales or search rankings all depend on factors outside our control.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited.
We handle personal data in line with UK GDPR — see our privacy policy for the detail. Where your website collects personal data from your customers (through a contact or booking form, for example), you are the data controller for that information and responsible for handling it lawfully. We act as a processor on your behalf and only use it to run the service.
If a claim is brought against us because of content you supplied, or because of how you've used the website, you agree to cover us for the reasonable costs and losses that result.
We're not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including outages at hosting or domain providers, internet failures, power cuts, fire, flood, industrial action or government restrictions.
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance and you can cancel before it takes effect if you're not happy. The current version always lives on this page.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
