Who we are

Weston Business Authority ("WBA", "we", "us") is a design and technology agency based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. For any privacy question, contact info@westonbusinessauthority.co.uk or WhatsApp 07447 571425. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us:

  • When you use a contact form — your name, business name, email address, preferred contact method and any message you send.
  • When you message us directly — by WhatsApp, phone or email, whatever you include in that message.

There are no advertising trackers on this site, and nothing here follows you to other websites. We do keep our own simple record of which pages get read, so we know what is worth writing more of.

What gets stored on your device

Not much, and none of it is shared with anybody:

  • A visit ID — a random string that lasts until you close the tab. It lets us see that one person read three pages rather than three people reading one, and it is deliberately forgotten when you leave.
  • How you arrived — for example, whether you came from a search. Also forgotten when you close the tab.
  • Small preferences — which panels you collapsed, and whether you have already answered “was this useful”, so we do not ask twice.
  • If you sign in to the client portal — the sign-in itself, so you are not asked for a code on every page. Ticking “remember this device” is what decides whether that outlasts closing your browser.

There is no cookie banner because there is nothing here that needs one. Since 5 February 2026, UK law exempts first-party analytics used only to improve a service, and preferences that remember how a page looked. If we ever add advertising or conversion tracking, that changes — and we will ask you first rather than quietly turning it on.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, provide a quote, and deliver any services you ask us to. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing by others.

Legal basis

Under UK GDPR, we process your information on the basis of your consent (when you contact us) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. Where we provide ongoing services, we process it to perform our contract with you.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and our service:

  • Formspree — processes and delivers form submissions to us.
  • GitHub Pages — hosts this website.
  • Cloudinary — hosts the images shown on the site.
  • Meta and Google — only if you engage us to run ads or manage listings on your behalf, and always through accounts owned by you.

These providers only process data on our instructions. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, for as long as we work together plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, just email or WhatsApp us. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
